Scott St. Dennis (Bass Guitar) was born in Pontiac Mi, in 1969. He grew up with the albums of his parents: The Beatles, Bob Seger, Chicago, The Doobie Bro's and Led Zeppelin. Scott was inspired to get his first guitar after seeing a TV commercial for KISS who were coming to play at Cobo Hall in Detroit in 1978. With a few guitar lessons under his belt he was on to learning music by ear. Ten Nugent, Rush, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Boston, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest to name a few. He was playing in a band at the age of 14 and the original song's were becoming popular enough to send the band in to the studio by the age of 16. The demo's were not up to every-ones expectations so Scott soon became a recording guru with a Tascam Porta One 4-track tape recorder. By 1991 the heavy metal scene in Detroit was becoming stale, so It was off to California to play bass in a Psychedelic band that cut a demo at the historic Cherokee Studio's in Hollywood. Soon it was1994 and back to the guitar for a blues rock band called "Bullhead". After cutting a demo at Brooklyn sound (Maverick Records) it was time to lay the 4 track to rest and upgrade to multi-track real-to-reels and Rode microphones. 14 years later he's found the mountains of western North Carolina home with Casey, his wife of 13 years, and enjoying playing bass again in the style of the sixties and seventy's (the best music ever).
NYC native Bill Kopp started playing keyboards more than 30 years ago. When his piano teacher announced she was moving to another city, she gave Bill a list of teachers with whom he could continue his studies. Instead, Bill threw the list away, gathered $150 and bought his first synthesizer and amplifier. Then, using Beatles and Pink Floyd record albums as his guide, he retaught himself to play completely "by ear." He formed his first band in 1979, and has been playing on and off ever since. In the mid 80s Bill briefly made a full-time living in a cover band called Remote Control; they played what would now be called "college alternative rock"--all the "alphabet groups" like XTC, REM, INXS, U2 and the like. In the early part of this decade, Bill led the Echoes of Tyme, a band that concentrated on rare and obscure nuggets form rock's first garage/psychedelic era (1965-1968). These days, Bill sings lead and harmony with Back Pages, and plays an assortment of vintage keyboards, samplers and organs designed to help give Back Pages that certain quality that will take you back to...whenever that given song was released. Between practices and gigs with Back Pages, Bill is a music journalist (with over 125 published articles) and collector (owning more than 11,000 albums). He lives in Asheville with his son and a little dog that looks like Nipper, the RCA dog ("His Master's Voice
Paul Quick was 13 years old when he first picked up a guitar and started a rock and roll band with some friends in Waco, Texas. It was the days of the Beatles and the British Pop invasion. Through high school, college and beyond he played with various groups, moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana while in high school. Mostly cover groups with some originals thrown in for good measure, bands included The Epics, The Convention Street Exit, Rock Candy and Sunshine. In 1975, he moved to Memphis with a group then known as Louisiana to work on recording original music at Ardent Studios. While there he also got to do some sessions in the studio with renowned studio musician Steve Cropper, who co-wrote “(Sittin’ on) a Dock of the Bay” with Otis Redding and played in the Blues Brothers Band. Music got put on the back burner for a couple of decades as he focused on career and family, but he always enjoyed jamming with others. In recent years he has been writing songs with Lance Kurland, a prolific lyricist and singer/songwriter who also is a sponsor of Asheville’s Organicfest, an annual festival promoting the organic food industry and local farmers. Paul has managed the stage and performed at this festival for years. In 2007, Paul noticed an intriguing ad in the local Mountain Xpress for a band looking for a lead guitarist and vocalist to play 60’s rock and roll. He auditioned and it was a good fit. That band is Back Pages. Paul says “One of the things that I really like about this group is that we all get along and have a good time making music. We all sing and no one is out to dominate. We only play songs that we all enjoy – and we think you will too, when you get a chance to see and hear Back Pages live!”
