The niece of WA folk legend, "Calamity Jim" Fisher ("Sensitive-New-Age-Cowpersons"/"Paul Kelly and the Stormwater Boys"), and the cousin of Musical-Comedian Tim Minchin, Lucy Fisher is on the front line of the next generation of original artists out of Australia's largest state. At the head of her band, "Lucy In The Sky", she displays the full force of her talents and the wealth of her experience as a virtuosic violinist, accomplished song-writer, and engaging vocalist. Her musical travels have taken her from a classical and jazz background in her home city of Perth, to the neo-African groove scene of the West Indies, to the buzzing rock vibes of Melbourne and many places in-between. A compassion for humanity and life, the result of her widespread travels, often expresses itself in her lyrics, and rides on the wave of her powerful, evocative and passionate violin. Lucy Fisher had played with bands such as "Toby" and "Carus and the True Believers" and artists such as Tex Perkins and Nick Barker, with whom she performed an opening set for Rod Stewart in 2008. Stay tuned for further additions to Lucy's upcoming album, to be released in 2009.
