Ten years in the making! The Wyld Olde Souls bring to us "Ensoulment"; an enchanting and spellbinding album with a labyrinth of songs encompassing both traditional and contemporary folk inspired by different "world" and "roots" music; blending medieval, celtic, classical, baroque pop and folk-rock in primitive forms of folk revival and art music;which also stylistically and emblematically involve a renaissance of history, lifestyle, and counterculture, giving a magical dimension to musical concepts. This style of music is often referred to as "dark-folk", "neo-folk" and "psychedelic-folk", which developed during the British and American electronic and progressive folk rock movements of the later 1960's (second) folk revival; with the fashioning and re-fashioning of the music adding more character to traditional folk music; which became common forms of entertainment and history-telling; popular among folk-lore dancers; as well as gaining unfathomable recognition as "art music"; that became an inspiration for theatrical and musical theatre; most popular throughout different parts of Europe.
"Ensoulment" is a fabulous and captivating 14 track album fully loaded with the creation of original music that incorporates compositional features of early folk and world music into rock songs, through vocal techniques and the use of exotic instrumentation (mellotron, 12-string guitars, flutes, bells, wind chimes, violin, mandolin, sitar, tablas), topped with mysteriously charismatic and knock dead haunting vocals and Celtic harmonies; that is sure to put you under a magic spell.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
