Although born in London, Julian has lived in several countries over the years, including Gibraltar, IsraeL, America, Italy and Norway. Julian always enjoyed music as a child but only started performing when he took to the streets and underground stations of London. This was soon followed by performing everywhere he travelled to but only took a serious turn when Julian went to live in California, where he sang mainly in San Francisco and on the UC Berkeley campus. Julian became a fixture on the scene and appeared in the UC Berkeley yearbook without even having taken any classes there!
After a number of years in America Julian moved to Florence, Italy and with his first cassette tape having been recorded, he started to make a good living both on the streets and in various bars and clubs. Eventually, Julian moved to Oslo in Norway where life was more peaceful and the music scene quite vibrant. After a brief moment of fame on live Norwegian television, he decided to return to London after many years of being away. He sang for a while in Covent Garden but for the last few years has found his niche just next to the river Thames, either by the Tate Modern museum or on the other side of the millenium bridge across the river. Both locations are idyllic and it is at one or the other that you can find him most weekends...weather permitting.
Even after all these years, according to Julian's own words, he qoutes "I can honestly say, I still enjoy performing on the street, either to a crowd of people on a nice day or to a few passers by in the heart of winter. It makes me whole as a musician and as a human being, to give what I can offer and to receive some appreciation in return...long may it continue!"
